Finding Images Using BROWSE
- - Browsing by Subject Heading
-
Each image has been assigned between one and nine descriptive subject headings. Browsing the subject heading list is a good way to
locate sets of images by topic, and to get a sense of the contents of the collection. To browse by subject heading, use the alphabetical index at the top of the "Browse by Subject" pages to
see subject headings that begin with that letter. Clicking a subject heading will retrieve all images
with that assigned subject heading.
- - Browsing by Date
- Clicking on a date or date range
in the "Browse by Date" area allows you to retrieve a list of all images from a certain
time period. For example, clicking on "1924" will retrieve all images from the year
1924. Years with more than 175 images have been broken down into smaller date ranges for easier browsing.
- - Browsing by Box
-
Box numbers reflect the organization of original photographs in the
physical collection. Clicking a box number will retrieve all images of photographs
stored in a particular box at the Calumet Regional Archives.
