Description
John Payne, the lead actor, was the first person in Hollywood interested in making the James Bond novels into a film series. In 1955, he paid a $1,000 amonth option for 9 months on the Bond novel Moonraker (he eventually gave up the option when he learned he couldn't retain the rights for the entire 007 series). This movie was an early effort for many well known 'B' movie character actors: Jack Elam, Lee Van Cleef, Neville Brand, Preston Foster. The director, Phil Karlson, is probably most famous for directing the sleeper hit, Walking Tall, with Joe Don Baker.

The timing plays an important role in the heist. Consequently, the appearance of the clock to remind us of the care the master criminal took in casing the bank. By pulling up in a paneled truck that is similar to the one our protagonist uses to deliver flowers, the gang is able to create some confusion and get away clean.
