Tasks and Think Aloud Protocol (4 tasks)

  1. Find a poem of interest.
  2. You are interested in fictional locations, especially Arthurian locations, mentioned in Swinburne's writings. Find three (3) of these locations and note the title of the writing in which they appear.
  3. You have been asked to write an essay to evaluate Swinburne's use of classical mythology to discuss contemporary events. You are interested in the poems contained in Songs Before Sunrise because it is a collection that is in large part about the Italian struggle for independence and unification.
    1. Identify six (6) relevant mythological references in Songs Before Sunrise.
    2. Note the name of the poem and line number in which these references appear
  4. Find a passage of interest.
