Extra Readings for Students Who Have Not Taken the Prerequisite Course

An understanding of the standards and practice of library cataloging (or another descriptive tradition such as that used in archives or museums) is essential to effectively using the MODS metadata structure standards. For most students, completing the prerequisite course, S504: Cataloging (formerly L520: Bibliographic Access and Control), will provide this understanding.
